For my webventure I knew that I wanted to focus on something that was more centered around experiencing and exploring a piece of art rather than a gameplay style project. I chose for the theme of my webventure to be liminal space and nostalgia. In my webventure the viewer explores a strange house with themes of the macabre, liminal space, nostalgia, and childhood trauma. The whole experience is meant to be a little unsettling and weird, but not scary or horror-themed. Overall, I was pretty happy with the end result, but I think that if I had more time it would have been a lot better. I wanted to delve deeper into GIF making and create more detailed and interesting GIFS, but with the time that was available for this project I decided to play it safe so that I would have something to present for critique. I will be practicing GIF making a lot more in the future and hopefully I will learn how to make a more interactive scene within a GIF. I had a lot of fun designing all of the pages for my webventure and using photoshop to create the backgrounds. I also wish that I could have added more paths to explore and pages to view in my webventure, but the time constraint did prevent me from doing so. Overall I enjoyed this project and would like to do some personal exploration of this genre of digital art as well.
