For this webventure project, I would like to create a webventure experience that explores feelings of nostalgia, grief, and childhood. I am thinking of having a motif that uses old photographs, boxes in attics, books with notes in them, etc. I plan on creating interactive scenes where the viewer can travel through different rooms of an old, abandoned house and explore different memories and visual experiences contained within the house. I want it to feel a little bit creepy and unsettling, but also comforting. I want this piece to feel nostalgic to me personally and remind me of my own childhood, so it will be themed in the early 2000's. I will be using lots of warm, neutral colors and symbols of childhood and nostalgia. In class we saw a lot of different examples of students embracing the 'typical early 2000s blog/website' and I would love to give my own personal take on that concept with this piece. I plan to have a large number of pages in the webventure take place on an old computer. I don't really want this to be a game or have a 'win' and 'lose' outcome. I would rather it just be an interesting explorative experience for the viewers that allows them to apply their own meanings and relate in their own ways. I do think I might include a little bit of narration, just so that the viewer doesn't feel stuck or confused from lack of information. have a lot of songs in mind that represent this theme for me and would love to include them in some way.
