For my exquisite corpse soundscape project I would like to make a soundscape largely inspired by Japanese videogames from the 80s like Pacman, Super Mario Bros, and Space invaders. I want the theme to be reminiscent of childhood games and experiences with a twist of unsettling macabre/horror theme. I want to take inspiration from games like Five Nights at Freddys and Doki Doki Literature Club for the macabre/horror aspect. This is a niche subgenre of horror that greatly interests me and inspires my music and visual art taste. A big aspect of my project will be editing the sounds, since most of them will probably not be in theme as they were originally submitted. I want the soundscape to start off happy and progressively get more distorted and chaotic as it goes on. I will also be taking some inspiration from the artist Jun Togawa as well as some japanese folklore and stories like Tomino's Hell.
